Afternoon Tea with the Administrator of Norfolk Island

As part of our wonderful week of creative patchwork, and as attendees of the Quilters Getaway, we were invited to have afternoon tea at the residence of the Administrator and his wife.  Dress was formal .

At 5.30pm we arrived and were formally introduced.  Champagne and canapés were the order of the day.  As guests, we ere invited to view the hand made quilts and the historic features of the residence.  Truly a memorable experience.

The North Queensland contingent were well represented at the Quilters Getaway, with about 5 persons from Charters Towers and another 5 persons from Townsville.  I am  here with Chris and June, both from North Queensland.

Four tutors worked during the week each teaching two projects.  Tutors came from Australia and New Zealand.  Friendships were made and renewed.

The Quilt Norfolk team are to be congratulated for their efforts in bringing together wonderful tutors for the week, and showcasing Norfolk Island and its diverse history to us, the tourist.
