Machine Embroidery retreats provide an opportunity for persons to step away from the routines of life and immerse themselves in a concentrated experience of learning adding to their knowledge of embroidery. With the expert guidance of Jane, participants learn a range of sewing and embroidery techniques and apply their newly acquired skills to create unique and creative projects. Participants learn
- Hooping and basting techniques,
- Use of stabilizers and tearaway products,
- Embroidery tensions,
- Templating, and
- Construction processes and techniques.
All this is achieved in a caring, social atmosphere where experiences are shared. Jane has either organised, or tutored at numerous retreats over the years. These has been held at
- Atherton Tablelands,
- Bribie,
- Cairns,
- Gladstone,
- Gympie,
- Hughenden,
- Maryborough,
- Palm Cove,
- Rockhampton, and
- Townsville.
Sewers travel from all corners of Queensland to participate in classes on the finer points of machine embroidery. Below is a few of the items produced at the classes / retreats.
