Burdekin Embroidery Mates

The name says it all.  This friendly group has a shared passion, being machine embroidery.  They sew interesting embroidery projects. No challenge is too big or small.   With Jane’s encouragement, they regularly step outside their comfort area and experiment with interesting techniques and processes.

This group meets regularly.  And they support each other with the creation of new embroidery ideas.  Thus, they are working on their project, Strike a Pose.  This original, embroidered quilt was designed and stitched by Bernadette Robinson, of Melanns.  Her creative use of embroidery, framed in patchwork combines an array of skills not usually seen with this type of project.  The Burdekin embroiderers were inspired to create their own version of this exciting quilt.  It will be exciting to see how each member develops their unique interpretation of this inspiring quilt.
